Initially I thought I was buying a mineral makeup and cosmetics company. You know, to keep myself out of trouble…build an empire. I was particularly interested in the Affordable Mineral Makeup Company because its mineral makeup products have no harmful ingredients. Little did I know that once I started doing my research about makeup and cosmetics that I would become so appalled and really mad at how our health is not even a minute consideration to so many of the cosmetics companies.
So although I have had bouts of madness about things before, my newest madness is getting the word out about the potentially harmful chemicals in makeup and baby products. And believe me, it is not merely a mineral makeup madness. It is a major, full blown lunacy…but…it is devoted, intense and desperate. If you go to the Cosmetics Database website and look up foundations, you will see an enormous amount of mineral foundations that are called ‘ONLY moderately hazardous’. Good grief. Moderately hazardous! Of couse, Affordable Mineral Makeup is not one of these or worse. We do not have, nor will we ever ever have anything that is called hazardous anything.
If there was a contest for the most moronic combination of words, I think this would be the winner.
Moderately hazardous. Hilarious! Well not hilarious… sad, disgraceful, disgusting, vile, horrible…well you get the idea. I don’t mean to pick on Cosmetics Database. They provide a very important service, and I applaud them, its just that the terminology really got to me. But you could tell that, couldn’t you? I have to go take a nap. Arlene

Well, we’re off and running with our plans to make Affordable Mineral Makeup the best mineral makeup company possible for everyone. There are numerous things happening behind the scenes as well as the visible changes like the little ‘face lift’ we’re giving our website properties.

You got that right, teenage girls are not paying the mortgage. So what are they doing with their money? They buy clothes and makeup.
Do they know that the makeup they buy is loaded with chemicals and toxins? No, they don’t. So we need to tell them. Maybe the years and years of using these toxic makeups have contributed to our suffering breast cancer and other not so pleasant ailments. We need to be asking teens, no begging them, to stop putting toxins into their bodies. How do we get the word out? How do we protect them? It is astonishingly vile that cosmetic companies actually use harmful ingredients. It is so beyond the boundaries of doing the right thing.
Get your teenager to start using chemical free makeup. Start right here…have them watch The Story of Cosmetics…it’s an important message that everyone should see. Affordable Mineral Makeup is putting together a place on our site just for teenagers. We will have an educated teen spokesperson to help spread the word to teenagers. Enough of letting these big cosmetics companies sweet talk us while offering a poisoned apple. Enough. Enough. Enough.

Well today being a rainy day, hmmm, what could I do to amuse myself? I got it! Yep, I will play with the make up. Smokey eyes? Pixie eyes? Innocent eyes? Not so innocent eyes? My poor face is red from cleaning off and reapplying. A little shimmer, not much, just a little from the Metallic Rose blush. Great color. Seriously, it is absolutely like being a kid in a candy store. Some of the colors did not work well with my skin tones and I think I scared my cat when I put on too much green concealer. So glad I bought this mineral makeup company instead of a company that sells widgets. After all, what are widgets anyway? And do I need one? And do they come in colors?

You know, I’m fairly new to the cosmetic industry, having bought the Affordable Mineral Makeup Company just 6 weeks ago. I didn’t know a whole heck of a lot about the industry. I just bought my cosmetics like millions of other women, just like you, thinking the products were OK’d by good old Uncle Sam.
The first thing I found out was that I was wrong. And not just wrong, but wildly wrong and completely ignorant about being put in harm’s way by an industry that is self regulating and that absolutely, positively uses toxins in their products. With friends like these…
Do you know that the existing law, on the books since 1938, states that the FDA cannot even call for product recalls even in cases where products were found to contain illegal levels of toxins. I think you should read this last sentence again. All I can say is “you’ve got to be kidding me!”

So now, Congress has in front of it a bill to insure that personal care products are free of harmful ingredients. Geez…wonder if it will pass.
Sure I am trying to get my company up to the next level of success, but truth be told, Affordable Mineral Makeup is free of toxins, chemicals and we do not use anything that is tested on animals. It is the biggest no-brainer since we started using our brains. Stop, stop, stop using cosmetics that are loaded with toxins. How dare any company care so little about the health and well being of us? One thing you don’t want to be putting directly on your lips is lead.
Yep…lead. The same stuff that has been the root of numerous recalls lately from kids toys, paint, jewelry and other products.
